The EU AI Act: A guide to due diligence for risk professionals
McKinsey Global Institute has estimated that GenAI will add between $2.6 and $4.4 trillion to the global economy in annual value. If this prediction runs its course, the economic impact of AI as a whole will increase to 15-40%. Goldman Sachs has set its sights for AI even higher - predicting a nearly $7 trillion increase in global GDP attributable to GenAI.
Given its mass adoption across consumers and businesses alike, it’s no surprise that enterprise organizations are keeping a stern eye on regulation and how they can ensure compliance while still building their bottom line through the sale and purchase of AI products. As such, governance has become a hot topic for senior leadership teams across industries. In fact, according to research from Databricks and MIT Technology Review Insights, 60% of CIOs surveyed in 2023 had a priority for a single governance model for data and AI.
The playbook on selling a GenAI product is yet to be written, but we are seeing parallels with previous tech regulation breakthroughs. This is the same watershed moment that data protection went through with GDPR - the due diligence model was rewritten and then so too was the enterprise sales playbook.
For enterprise organizations - particularly those with a global footprint - keeping up with ever-changing risks and regulations around buying and selling AI can feel overwhelming.
As regulators continue to crack down and due diligence on third-party AI-based products faces more scrutiny, Platformed has developed an eGuide that serves as a comprehensive overview of:
- How the legal landscape is shaping up across key regions
- What key elements should be included in due diligence checks
- How CISOs and risk management professionals can be assured in their due diligence processes
- Including thoughts from Martyn Booth, Chief Information Security Officer, dunnhumby
